    Question

I would like to get the cartilage in my ear pierced. If I do get it pierced, how likely is infection? I have been searching the internet and haven't been able to find this. Also, would I be better off getting it pierced at a piercing/tatoo type place, or a shopping mall ear piercing place. Thanks!

    Answer

The issue is that you need to keep it clean after it is pierced - putting Neosporin or another antibiotic on it twice a day for several weeks. Wherever you get the piercing done, make sure they use a new needle and that their supplies are sterilized. More about piercing
