Question
Okay I am really embarrassed to be asking this. I am 14 years old and i have had this "boyfriend" for over a year now. Okay so I am not that innocent of a child anymore, when I say that i mean that i have let my boyfriend do things to me. I hope that sorta gives the idea. Anyway one day after I had let him do things, like 20 minutes after, i went to the bathroom and found a thick brown discharge lining the inside of my panties. I thought it was my period but later that night I realized it was not. I had brushed it off but lately i have noticed brown in my panties and is not pleasant at all. I am really worried but I don't want to tell my mom unless I know something is wrong. I really need an opinion on what to do. I am scared and want to avoid the doctor as much as I can. Help!

Part of choosing to be sexually active involves the risks associated with pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. I am sorry, but you should see a doctor. You do not say where you live, so I suggest you look in the telephone book to see if there is a Planned Parenthood near you. They usually have teen clinics that will be low cost or free and they will not tell your parents. Please learn how to use condoms and protect yourself.
