    Question

I am on my period and yesterday, I took my tampon out before I got in the shower and during my shower I looked down and I had discharged two pieces of thick rubberlike tissue that looked just like chicken skin. I went to the doctor and she was perplexed as well she examined me and found nothing abnormal and did a pee and blood pregnancy test and both were negative. It is still driving me crazy to know exactly what that was. Do you have any idea or have you heard of a similar situation???

    Answer

Without being able to examine this "rubberlike tissue," it is difficult to determine what it is. It could be an organized blood clot or thick vaginal discharge that has become "rubberlike." If it resolves with your menses it is most likely due to your cycle and not a cause for concern. If it continues throughout your cycle, you may want to be examined again by your physician when you are actually having the discharge.
