Question
Hi, i recently got offered a job to work at the church as a "server" and i said no because it wasnt the thing i was into and the man who offered me the job kept insisting that i do this job and that it is a great oppurtunity and i can learn alot about the church and he just wouldnt let me say no and he said he would talk to me about this later! I don't know why he is not letting me say no to his offer, is this harassment? Thank-you.
Answer
Dear Teen: He should certainly take no for an answer. If he talks with you about it again I would encourage you to give him a firm no and tell him not to talk with you about this anymore. If he will not leave you alone, I suggest you talk with another adult in authority at your church, such as your pastor or youth minister, and get his/her help in getting him to leave you alone. The adult should be able to see if this is harassment or just why he is behaving this way.
