    Question

hi im 17 and ever since i was about 8 ive had vaginal itching. it was always worse at night. my mom took me to the dr alot but they found nothing but irritation. years later i developed these bumps, they are all over the lips and lining of my vagina. im thinking it might be warts, hpv, but im unsure. i also have a heavy discharge at times and a weird odor right before my period. i told my mom i want to be tested for hpv, could that be it?

    Answer

I think it would be an excellent idea to be evaluated by a doctor. Genital warts caused by Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) can present as numerous bumps or papules. It is important to have an accurate diagnosis and to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases even if you've never had sex. Vaginal discharge can signify an infection especially if the discharge is thick and malodorous.
