hi i am 18 and i am thinking of having sex for the 1st time ever and i want ur opinion if u think i should go through with it...? the guy i would be having sex with has had sex b4 many times and we have talked about all the things that could happen and sexual transmitted diseases and he got checked out..... but i dont want to get on the pill.... but we are going to use a condom.... but i want ur opinion if i should go through with this? and he is also only 17.... but i have known him for a year..... thanx

I am glad you are thinking about this and asking opinions. My opinion, without knowing the boy, is "no." There are several reasons:
1) I do not think you are sure that this is the boy you trust completely to not break your heart.
2) I would need to know more about his "getting all check out" - it is a rare young male who will present himself in his doctor's office for a full STD screening.
3) You not starting a reliable method of birth control - the pill, an IUD or starting depo shots - means that there is a risk of pregnancy.
4) There are other things in life - save this one for later.
