    Question

hi i'am now 18 and my boyfriend, now fiance, is 33 but i was wondering if my parents could still press charges against my used to be boyfriend but now is my fiance.... we where sexually active before i was 18 and i did get pregnant..... but i was wanting to know if they could still press charges even know i'am 18 now..... or could they only press charges when i was under age? thank you...

    Answer

In CA, once you are 18, it is legal for you have sex with anyone. I imagine your parents are very concerned because he is so much older than you, obviously did not protect you by using condoms, and may not have your best interest at heart. Try and talk with them about their feelings and concern - instead of the law. It was against the law when you were under 18, and therefore a crime.
