    Question

I had unprotected sex for the very first time. I know this is a huge NO! I didn't bleed immediately after. I started bleeding the day after and I am still bleeding (3rd day). It's not anything heavy. How soon do I wait to find out if I may be pregnant?

Before when my boyfriend and I attempted to have sex we ended up stopping and I bled for the duration of my typical period and had some slight discomfort. It went away soon after. I'm wondering could this time be similar to what had happened the last time?

    Answer

Well, I think there are two questions. The first is why you bleed so much after sex, which I think requires an exam when you are no longer bleeding. The second is about pregnancy, and for that, you can use a home pregnancy test on the first urine of the day, as soon as the day your period should start, or you can have the doctor test you when you see her.
