    Question

When I was 13 years old I woke up one morning to find the hole on the tip of my penis double its size. A week later the glans divided distally but were kept together by outer skin. Nothing else happened except that my voice did not break. My doctor said this is a minor birth defect and did not recommend surgery. But can a birth defect appear later in life like what happened to me. What do you advise?

    Answer

Assuming that your voice has now changed into that of a man, what you are describing is probably just a minor developmental defect. The issues are, can you pass urine well, and can you get an erection. If the answer to both questions is yes, then no surgery is needed, and there is no cause for concern.
