Question
Answer
I think in your case it would be great for you to schedule a visit with your doctor, both to get to know your doctor and to have a quick exam. That way you'll feel better and more reassured about your normal vaginal color. Don't worry; she does not need to do a pelvic exam in a quick visit like this (unless there are reasons for her to do so at a separate visit; she and you can talk about this.)
One thing you could do is make up a different reason, like saying you have a pain in your side or stomach, and then asking your mom to stay outside. At your age and in certain states such as yours (California) you are considered an adult in your doctor's eyes. So what goes on in the exam is kept confidential between you and your doctor. You could either schedule a physical exam (longer visit) or a short visit for her to check your genitals. Either way, I think you'll feel better after getting to know your doctor and being reassured by her (painless!) exam.
