Question

I'm 16 yrs old. Pulling back the foreskin I notice a fair amount of orangish-white fragments on the skin of the underpenis. I don't know what they are or if it's supposed to be there, but I can pull them off carefully. it feels sort of like tissue paper/skin, can rip/break them. What is it and should it be there?

Answer

Hi, The fragments you mentioned are likely debris from your own body secretions (sweat for example). This is unlikely to be an infection as there is usually some discomfort with that or itching. To avoid this it is best to carefully clean after urination and especially while showering. No need to be vigorous in this. Simply pulling back the foreskin and cleaning and drying should take care of this. Don?t forget the drying. You can expect this problem to go away in at most one week. If it does not it would be best to see your doctor for an examination and evaluation. Thanks for contacting us.
