Question
i have an oily skin, and i'm getting acne almost everywhere hair grows, especially black heads. how can i treat it please, it doesn't want to go away.
Answer
A good over-the-counter topical medication is benzoyl peroxide. This works best preventively, therefore you need to apply it to the entire areas that are affected. It comes as a wash or a cream. If you use the wash, you need to leave it on the skin at least 20 seconds in order for it to be effective. It can dry the skin out quite a bit, so start with the lower strengths such as 2.5 or 5%. Give the medication at least 2 months to work. If you don't get enough improvement, vitamin A derivatives called retinoids can be used on the skin in addition to the benzoyl peroxide. These need to be prescribed by a doctor. Good luck!
