    Question

I have a crush on an autistic friend of mine, and he likes me back. There is a lot of romantic tension between us, but I have a boyfriend that I have also very strong feelings for and we have built a good life together. I want to tell the autistic guy how I feel but explain to him that I can't be with him for various reasons, not just the boyfriend. Suggestions?

    Answer

The best way is always direct, honest, and gentle. He needs to know how you feel and you both need to "play by the rules," as friends without flirting or participating in the "romantic tension." If that is not possible, then you probably should not spend time together.
