    Question

Hi, I'm 13 years old. I started having my period when I was 12 in the summer. It was regular, then after a while it stopped, then a couple months after I'd have it again, But now I don't have it anymore, since July 2007. But I also have this little lump on the outside of my vagina. It's been there for a while now. A long time. I'm too embarrassed to tell my mom.

    Answer

Well you do not need to tell your mom that you have a lump in your vagina, but you can tell her that your period is irregular and you would like to make an appointment with your doctor to have it checked out. Because you are 13, the doctor should ask your mom to leave the room for at least a few minutes and you can tell her about the lump at that time. To make sure that happens, call the doctor's office before your appointment and ask the nurse to make sure you can talk with the doctor alone. Good luck!
