Question
it looks like i have dandruff in my pubic hairs, but i havent had any sexual contact at ALL. i looked it up and found 'crab lice' on google as to be the ONLY thing that relates, but im pretty sure that cant be my case because it says that crab lice is only transmitted by sexual contact. is it possible to get it another way? or is what i have something other than that? please help.
Answer
It's possible to have the equivalent of dandruff in other areas, which we call seborrheic dermatitis. If it itches, it's more likely to be a fungal infection. If there's redness or a rash, you should see your doctor to have it evaluated. You are right in that crab lice would be very unusual without sexual contact or very close contact.
