    Question

I took the morning after pill 3 weeks ago. I got light bleeding that was brown 1 week after taking it, than it turned into red bleeding like a period, total was about a week and a half of bleed. Now 5 days later I am having a tinged bloody discharge. I took 2 pregnancy tests and they are negative. Is this all still because of the medication? HELP !

    Answer

Yes, the medication causes you to have what is called a "withdrawal bleed" because of the large dose of hormones you took with the pill and then it comes out of your system. When that happens, you will bleed - sometimes heavier than a period.

You may continue to have spotting until your next period. You should not consider this a period - just the result of the medication. If your period is not more regular after 2-3 cycles, see your doctor and make sure you are using reliable contraception until then!
