    Question

Is there a right or wrong age to start having sex?

    Answer

Well, there are very good physical reasons to not have sex at 14 - your body is not done growing, so your cervix (inside your vagina) is very vulnerable, and you are more likely to get pregnant and sexually transmitted infections the earlier you start having sex. For those reasons - having sex after age 18 makes great sense.

Emotionally, there are also great reasons to wait until you are older and in a committed relationship - heartbreak hurts and most young women wished they had waited to have sex.

If you want my opinion, waiting is better all the way around - enjoy being 14 and participating in the world - you will have your entire adult life to worry about relationships, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections - why start too early?
