    Question

I have an IUD in place but I can't find the string, and now I have pink discharge coming from my vagina. what is wrong with me?

    Answer

The strings may have retracted into the cervix or tucked into area where you cannot feel the strings. The other possibility is that it may have fallen out (usually you would see the IUD in the toilet though). I would recommend you see your doctor and have him or her confirm that the IUD is still in place. They may use an ultrasound to visualize the IUD if they are not able to locate the strings either.
