    Question

I have been through a break up and I can not eat. I went several days without eating and went into the hospital. I have no appetite and gag or throw up when I try to eat. I am about 95 lbs and I am 5'8. What can I do to eat again?

    Answer

Dear Broken Hearted, Since you weight is so low I would encourage you to check in with you family doctor in the next day or two as a follow up to what the hospital did or else you may end up in the hospital again. I think the feelings you get when you breakup as a teenager are some of the most difficult in life. It just feels terrible and you think the worst. However, if your best friend were going through this I bet you would say something like remember that it wasn't a perfect relationship, he had his flaws and that he's not the only fish in the sea. If you think about it do you know anyone who has dated and hasn't gone through this? If you seriously think there is something wrong with you and that you will never again attract a guy, you might want to seek out a counselor or therapist to work on self esteem. I sincerely hope that spring will bring you a new start.
