Question
I hear voices right behind my head especially when I'm stressed out but when I turn around, there's no one there. Sometimes its only one person but other times its a conversation. What's going on? I feel like an idiot in public turning around constantly and always feeling twitchy, you know? Thanks.
Answer
Dear Teen: Hearing voices is an indication that you are having some emotional reactions that are not normal. This type of thing can sometimes happen when people are under stress, but it is definitely something you should discuss with your doctor. The voices may just go away over time, but it is important to know what caused this confusing symptom and what you can do about it.
