Question

Why is obesity consider an eating disorder?

Answer

Obesity is not always considered an eating disorder, but has health consequences (see www.pamf.org/teen/health/diseases/obesity.html) that multiply the older you get. The younger you are when you get to be obese, the more likely those consequences are, and the harder it is to lose weight. Eating can also be a problem if you do not feel like you can control it and make healthy choices about what you eat and how much you exercise. Talk with your doctor!
