Question
Hi, i am 17 years old and have recently noticed 3 small-medium sized red bumps on the shaft of my penis. I recently also got eczema on my hand. Is there any way that can be related? thanks for reading/replying in advanced.
Answer
If you have a tendency towards eczema, you may develop it in different parts of the body, but you cannot spread it on yourself or to others. You want to make sure the red bumps are not genital warts or mollusca, both of which are contagious and are sexually transmitted. Several skin disorders are common on the penis also, such as lichen planus and psoriasis. Using 1% hydrocortisone twice daily for 2 weeks should clear up most eczema in that area, so if it doesn't, you might want to see a dermatologist. Don't use the hydrocortisone cream for longer than 2 weeks, as longer treatment might start to thin out the skin there. Good luck!
