    Question

Okay i've had sex about a million times. I've had sex with 10 different guys and i'm 16 and i've never been pregnant as far as i know. I've used condemns but only with 2 of the guys and i'm not on any kind of birth control. Is there some reason why i'm not pregnant? Do you think i might not be able to have kids. Because i want to.

    Answer

I cannot tell you if you can have children or not. You will have to discuss this with your doctor. I can tell you that at 16 - you are putting yourself at great risk for NOT being able to have children by NOT using condoms or protecting yourself from sexually transmitted infections.

If you have not been tested for these - you should be. Sexually transmitted infections are on the rise, especially in teenage girls right in your age group. 1 in 4 girls has a sexually transmitted infection by age 18.

Sexually transmitted infections, especially chlamydia, can cause a 12% increase in infertility each time you get the infection. Serious infections called pelvic inflammatory disease can cause higher rates of infertility.

Be smart - protect yourself. See your doctor and talk about how to stay healthy while you are sexually active. This is the best way to make sure that the factors you can control in getting pregnant are all ok.
