Question
My partner took my virginity about 4 months ago. I later found out that he had been with 9 sexual partners before me. I'm devastated because we didnt use protection. What are the chances that i got an STD from him?
Answer
I am sorry, but it is not an easy answer. Each disease has a different infectivity rate - so for example, the changes of getting gonorrhea from an infected partner is about 1:2 but HIV is closer to 1:400. So the only advice I can offer is please see a doctor, get tested, and always use a condom in the future.
