Question
well i'm 13 and i feel like since the past few weeks that i have changed. i used to think about sex constantly and now i hardly ever think about it. plus i feel like i dont really have emotions. i dont know if they are hidden or what. it makes me worry that i might not get over this. i dont know if my body is changing or what.
Answer
Well you are definitely feeling puberty, which does impact your feelings, thoughts, and body, all at once, or sometimes one at a time. It sounds perfectly normal to me, but having things change every which way is always easier if you have someone to talk to. Please try talking to a parent, minister, ask if your insurance can pay for a counselor to help you through puberty, and some schools have great counselors - an objective adult is sometimes easier than a parent. If you feel sad for more than two weeks, or cry frequently, or think about hurting yourself - get help!
