    Question

hi, i get strange discharge. sometimes it's a thick, yellow, very smelly discharge and other times it's clear and stretchy. we had a connexions lady come in and talk to us about chlamydia. is there any possible chance it could be that or is it normal? please help as i dont want to go to the doctor. thank you.

    Answer

If you are not sexually active, it cannot be chlamydia. If you are sexually active, the only way to know in many cases, is to be tested, by a doctor.

I can tell you that discharge is normal and everyone has it - to clean out the vagina - and that the discharge is tied to our hormones - so it changes during each month - dry and sticky, white or yellow and runny, and clear and stretchy - which happens around ovulation. If you keep track of it a couple of months, you will start to see the pattern that is normal for your body.
