    Question

My 10-year old daughter is complaining of discharge and has since last night. Today she said the discharge increased. Is this normal for this age or should she see a doctor?

    Answer

It is normal to have vaginal discharge for a few months prior to starting your first period or between periods. If the discharge is yellow or green with a foul odor or thick, white and itchy or painful, then she should see her physician.
