    Question

I am 13, female, and have suffered with headaches/light headness for the past 8 months. I have seen my regular doctor twice and have gone to Urgent Care. They took blood and urine sample, but nothing was found. I don't think I am being taken seriously. I think there may be something really wrong with me. I never complain and have a high pain tolerance. Please advise. We are thinking of switching to another doctor at PAMF.

    Answer

I am sorry you have been suffering from headaches. I am sure your doctor takes you seriously but may not know the extent to which you are suffering. I would advise making a half hour appointment with him/her to spend time discussing the issue. Headaches are VERY difficult to treat. Once something serious is ruled out (and that is usually the case) one is left with a lot of discomfort and very little treatment. Decreasing sorces of stress often helps and some people get relief from biofeedback.

In addition, make sure you are drinking at least 6 glasses of non-caffeinated fluid per day as mild dehydration causes lightheadedness and headache.
