    Question

Is it possible to get pregnant while using IUD? How do I tell my boyfriend that I want him to get checked for STIs?

    Answer

Directly is always best. Tell him that since he has had previously sexual partners, and you want to be comfortable having sex with him, you need to know that he has been checked for sexually transmitted infection. Mention the fact that most STDs have no symptoms and people rarely know they have them without being tested.

Sadly, many men will say they were checked when they were not, so please go along with him to the appointment - to be supportive.
