    Question

I recently started the pill so i would have only four periods and i am not sexually active. I've been on it for a little over a month and now am getting a lot of brown discharge to the point where i have to wear a tampon or pad. It used to happen after my period or sometimes in place of it. And i get horrible stomach aches (not cramps) while it goes on. What could be causing this?

    Answer

One of the common problems with the pill that gives you four periods is additional spotting (that's what doctors call the brownish discharge). The pain is probably a type of cramps.

If the spotting and pain bother you too much, then just go back to a regular pill. If you get where you can tell when you are going to spot and it is not as bad as your periods, then this still might be a good choice for you.
