    Question

I am pregnant and was recently told I have the oral herpes virus. I have never had any outbreak but still the word herpes seems to scare everybody. My doctor just called me today to tell me I have a bacterial infection and will need to go on an antibiotic. I have had some yeast infection symptoms lately such as itchyness but nothing else. Yesterday after sex I notice the skin on the opening of my vagina looks raw and is a darker pink. It's irritated and just looks like raw skin. I have had a lot of yeast infections in the past 6 months and sex has always been relatively painful for me (mostly when im not lubricated enough). Doctors can't give me a reason for my pain during sex and I just now noticed the irritated skin. I have been with one man for over 6 months and I have been tested for std's and I don't have any. Any ideas?

    Answer

I suggest your partner get tested - he may be infecting you and not have symptoms.
