my boyfriend and I have been together for 6-7 months and we are ready to have sex. i'm worried that it might really hurt or tear my vagina. he says we can wait till i'm ready but i am ready for sex. will it hurt as bad as i think it will?

Since you asked, please wait about 5 years! At 13 your cervix is really "soft" and has not finished growing, making you very vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections (STI), including HIV. In addition, the earlier you start having sex, the higher the chances that you will get your heart broken, pregnant or an STI as a teen. Please reconsider! There are so many things you could be focusing on now - and do not need to be sexually active.
