    Question

I was put on mirena about 4 months ago, and then moved and have not found a new doctor yet. I was wondering how often it needs to be checked by a doctor so I can know when I need to schedule my next visit.

    Answer

You really only need to be checked by a physician once a year. If you can feel the string inside of you, it is a good idea to check it after each period.
