    Question

I am 18 years old, and have been having feelings of nausea for about a year now when I am nervous or stressed. The only way I can stop the feeling is to throw up. It only happens when I am nervous. Is there any way I can stop this or understand what is going on?

    Answer

You are probably having anxiety issues and the feelings of nausea are common. This is not a normal response to anxiety, though. You should talk with your doctor or a counselor about how to deal with your stress and anxiety, so that you can relieve it in a more constructive way. If you keep doing this, even though you may not intentionally be trying to throw up, it can set you up for an eating disorder.
