Question
My daughter is 11 years old and started her very first period in October. Then her second on November 8. She bleed for 4 days, then stopped. 4 days after, she bled again for about 5 days. 7 days later, she started again. Is this normal, since this her first year?
Answer
Periods can be very irregular the first few years after they start. However, if she is having very frequent (consistently every 2 weeks or less), or very heavy, periods, you should speak with her pediatrician to ensure she does not become anemic.
