Question
hey, i live in the United States, FL, and i'm sexually active. i want to go to my doctor and get check ups and stuff. but my mom and i don't have a good relationship and i don't want her to know. can the doctors tell my mom that i'm sexually active? what would i do about the money? i'm only 16 and she thinks i'm still a virgin. i don't know what to do, so PLEASE HELP!
Answer
Most states provide confidential reproductive health care for teens - meaning the doctor cannot tell your parent. Call and/or visit your local Planned Parenthood Clinic - they will likely have a teen clinic that will be low-cost or free. Search for your local clinic here: www.plannedparenthood.org/health-center/findCenter.asp.
