    Question

Hi my name is Jennifer, I am a 20 year old female, who isn?t sexually active, I haven?t been since I was 16. I have been having vaginal discharge (very thick clear to yellowish in color), a strong odor as well as constant vaginal dryness for a while (2yrs), I never thought it could be a STD. I have tried multiple products to help, vaginal suppositories, the product rePHresh, and douching and none have seem to work. If you can help I would appreciate it.

    Answer

While vaginal discharge can sometimes be a sign of a sexually transmitted infection, sometimes vaginal discharge can be the result of an infection that it not spread from person to person. It can also be result of a hormonal imbalance. The only way to figure out the cause is to make an appointment with your medical provider. Since you have tried over-the-counter treatments and none are working, the best thing to do is to make an appointment to get some advice on what the next step for treating this would be.
