    Question

is any form of birth control safe while breast feeding?

    Answer

Yes, the progesterone-only pills and the combination estrogen and progesterone pills are safe to use. Other hormonal forms of contraception and the IUD are also safe. For pills, we typically prescribe the progesterone-only pills during breastfeeding, because those pills don't affect the milk supply as much. But they are perfectly safe for baby!
