    Question

during the weekend i fall asleep at around 4am and sleep untill 4pm. and on school days i fall asleep at 1am and sleep untill 7am and then when i get home from school at 3 i take a three hour nap, wake up for a couple hours and then go to sleep for the rest of the night. my whole life i have had this problem and im just trying to figure out if maybe its a sleeping disorder. do you think it is?

    Answer

When you don't sleep enough, your body becomes sleep deprived. This "sleep debt" can accumulate until you have to pay off your sleep debt by sleeping in until your body is well rested. Your sleep patterns are bad for you; they're similar to sleeping patterns of people who do overnight shift work. When your biological clock changes so much from weekends to weekdays, you may become sleepy during the day, have problems focusing on your tasks, experience insomnia, and frequently be in a bad mood. You may want to talk to your doctor about your sleep issues, too.
