    Question

I WANT TO GET A TATTOO ON MY BACK BUT I DONT KNOW IF ITS SAFE BECAUSE LATER ON IN THE FUTURE I DO WANT TO HAVE BABIES. SOME FRIENDS HAVE TOLD ME THAT IF YOU GET A TATOO ON YOUR BACK WHEN YOU HAVE A BABY THE DOCTOR WONT BE ABLE TO INJECT ME SO IT DOESNT HURT AS MUCH, IS THIS TRUE?

    Answer

A tattoo on your back will not make it more difficult to receive a spinal or epidural in the future (this is for pain control during labor). Please make sure that you receive your tattoo from a reputable tattoo place. If needles are not sterilized properly you could be at risk of receiving an infection/disease (such as hepatitis C).
