Question
I'm a 15-year-old male and I'm having trouble sleeping. I'm not sure why and I'm not sure if I have a sleep disorder or not. Is this normal for my age?
Answer
Insomnia, or trouble sleeping, can happen to adults and teens alike. Common causes include too much caffeinated drinks, irregular sleep patterns (such as staying up late on weekends and waking up early on weekdays), stress, and mood problems (such as anxiety and depression). Please talk to your physician regarding your problem with sleep.
