    Question

Um.. I'm kinda scared to go to anyone about this. But, I think I have an eating disorder. Since I was ten I've skipped all meals but dinner. If I did eat before then, it was always candy or some sort of junk food. The only time I have eaten somewhat right was during my pregnancy with my second daughter. Now it has gotten to the point where I only eat once every few days, and it's usually junk food. I just don't have an appetite, and if I eat I throw up. Not intentionally, I just get sick and vomit.

    Answer

It is brave of you to face up to your eating disorder and recognize you need help. You can start by asking your own doctor or you child's pediatrician for a referral to resources in your area. It is very important that you stick with your plan to help yourself, because eating disorders can cause serious health problems. When untreated, they can easily be passed on to children. Getting help and facing this is not just for yourself but also for your family is vital. My best wishes for you ---
