Question
My son is nearly 13 years old. He has put on a bit of weight and is teased about inverted nipples. Is this due to the small weight increase or do they stay like that? I am not sure what to tell him.
Answer
Inverted nipples occurs in both males and females. They often stay that way but may protract (come out) when the nipple is stimulated or stay protracted naturally in some cases. This is of no health consequence. Wikipedia has a good discussion about this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverted_nipple
