    Question

I had my periods from 11th to the 15th of May. I'm a muslim. Four days ago I started a fast. I noticed brown discharge mixed with white secretion for the next two days. It was not there after that. Today I fasted tonight it reappeared. Does starvation have anything to do anything with this brown discharge? No itching, and it has no smell. I'm not married and haven't had sex. I'm 70 kilograms and 161 centimeters. No abdominal pain. I've been having regular cycles.

    Answer

It could be because of the fasting. When girls do not eat, first their cycle becomes irregular and then their periods can actually stop. Being Muslim, when I have fasted during Ramadan, my cycle does change. It might also be other issues like stress or dieting to lose weight. See if it stops after you stop fasting, and if not, see your doctor. Hope this helps.
