    Question

What percentage of teens talk to their parents about sex and what percentage of teens use protection?

    Answer

There has been quite a bit of research about your questions by the Kaiser Family Foundation, SIECUS, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All reports suggest that most teens wish their parents would talk to them about sex and other "tough" issues like drugs, alcohol, depression, etc... Sadly, few teens are this lucky.

Studies also show that about 60% of teens use condoms when they have vaginal sex - meaning 40% are exposing themselves to pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections by not using condoms. Condoms should also be used for all anal or oral sex.
