Question
When looking down at my penis on the right side at the base, there is a purple vein that is about the size of an m&m most of the time. After masturbation, it gets very sore and a little more swollen. Please let me know what this is.
Answer
Generally the penis has a great deal of blood supply in order to cause an erection. The vein you are describing sounds normal. Masturbation causes the blood supply through the vein to increase and the veins to swell. The rubbing can irritate the skin and underlying vein.
Your description sounds normal and I would only suggest you try not to be rough on yourself. Lubrication might help.
