    Question

After a heavy period that lasted 9 days, my 12 year old daughter has been having dark brown vaginal discharge for an additional week with no other symptoms. She got her first period about 6 months ago. Is this cause for concern or just her hormones getting stabilized?

    Answer

This should be followed up by a doctor. Probably the hormones stabilizing, but it is also important to make sure she isn't getting anemic.
