    Question

This will sound stupid, but I'm not sure if I have an eating disorder. It's been quite a few months that I really don't have an appetite anymore. I try to eat, but I cant. I eat about once or twice a day, sometimes not at all. I just don"t get hungry, could I have an eating disorder? Thanks

    Answer

The definition of "eating disorder" can be a complicated one. For you, it sounds more like you have loss of appetite rather than a true eating disorder. An eating disorder usually involves your voluntary control of your eating. Loss of appetite can indicate other medical conditions, such as thyroid disorder or depression, so you should see your doctor to talk about this more.
