Question

I am on the nuva ring and have followed all the directions. I have not had a period this week with the ring out. Is this normal?

Answer

Occasionally you may not have a withdrawal bleed (menses) after taking out the Nuvaring or taking the placebo week on ocps. This may happen especially if you have been using hormonal birth control for a long time. If this is the first time that it has happened to you, you should check a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy as a possible cause.
