Question
I just recently lost my house and I am in a treatment center. I was wondering if there is something I am missing? Like what are the positives? I am a big athlete and I have to move, which is making me lose my scholarship. I don't know what to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Answer
Dear Teen:
It sounds like this has been a period of a lot of loss for you. You don't explain about losing your house, but it does sound like someone identified that you needed help and one positive is you are being given a new opportunity in a treatment center.
You are an athlete who wants to participate in sports, so I would talk with the treatment center staff about possible ways you can keep up your exercise and skills training. You should have lots of very professionally skilled staff to talk with about all your issues at a treatment center. Take advantage of all the positive help available. Don't miss the opportunities.
